Sam Parmekar

Sam Parmekar is an experienced political professional currently serving as the Committee Administrator for the Committee on Higher Education Finance & Policy in the Minnesota Senate since January 2023. Previously, Sam held the role of Committee Legislative Assistant for the Higher Education Finance and Policy Committee in the Minnesota House DFL Caucus, and worked as a Candidate Services Associate for the Twin Cities Metro Region. Sam's advocacy for student renters led to the successful passage of Minnesota’s prorated rent statute while serving as the State Government Affairs Director for the Minnesota Student Association. Additional roles include Campaign Manager for Heather Edelson for Minnesota House, Legislative Intern at the Minnesota Senate, and Campaign Fellow for Tina Smith for Minnesota. Sam graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from the University of Minnesota, having also attended the University of Vermont.
