Shahbaz Khan

Shahbaz Khan is the Director of Digital Content at the Minnesota Timberwolves. Shahbaz has over seven years of experience in digital media and content strategy.

Khan started their career as a Social Media Associate with the Minnesota Timberwolves. In this role, they created content and managed social media accounts for the team. Shahbaz also helped to develop and implement the team’s digital content strategy.

In 2014, Khan became a Social Media Content Freelancer for the Social Enterprise Alliance. In this role, they created and managed social media content for the organization.

In May 2015, Khan became the Social Media Manager for SociaLink Media. In this role, they created and managed social media content for clients in a variety of industries.

In October 2015, Khan became the Digital Managing Editor for the Sacramento Kings. In this role, they oversaw the digital content strategy for the organization. Shahbaz also developed and facilitated organizational digital initiatives, including the creation, editing, coordination of approval and posting phases of web and social content.

In January 2018, Khan returned to the Minnesota Timberwolves as the Director of Digital Content. In this role, they oversee the digital content strategy for the organization. Shahbaz also provides strategic guidance to junior digital staff and facilitates intraorganization digital activations and additional department-related projects.

Shahbaz Khan has a Bachelor's degree in Communication and Media Studies from the University of Minnesota. Shahbaz also has a degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of St. Thomas.

Their manager is Erik Nelson, Executive Producer of Digital Content. They work with Noah Ferche - Director of Digital Production, Taylor Nardinger - Social Media Coordinator, and Doug Price - Senior Motion Graphics Animator.
