Saumya began their professional journey at UL Group of Companies as a Human Resources Officer from July 2008 to May 2010. In this role, they established the HR department and implemented process automation.

Saumya Patnaik has a diverse education history. In 1995, they attended K.V. Ozar and obtained their SSC degree. Saumya then pursued a Master's degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Human Resource Management at M.E.T Nasik from 2006 to 2008. In 2023, they completed an Executive Program in Strategic Human Resource Management at the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta. Additionally, Saumya Patnaik holds a certification as an AIQM certified Six Sigma Green Belt from the Asian Institute of Quality Management, although the specific month and year of this certification are unknown.
