Manager, Financial Planning

*(*1 year contract)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership

  • Development of goals, objectives, and internal service standards for Financial planning.

  • Implementation and management of goals, objectives, and internal service standards.

  • Demonstrate and support a strong team and collaborative culture.

  • Manage and mentor your team and colleagues where appropriate to support development.

  • Work with VP of Finance to provide advice and guidance to support informed management decisions to support financial and corporate performance.

  • Exceptional project management skills and application of skills.

Financial Planning and Analysis: 

  • Oversee the development of the annual budget (two iterations annually).

  • Accountability for the long-term financial planning process of development of 5-year financial models including capital projects planning.

  • Lead the forecasting process on a monthly basis to adjust the budget based on the actual performance of the company and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Lead the improvement of the net assets strategy, identify and implement best practices, and ensure multiyear financial stability.

  • Implement enhancements to forecasting workflow, and facilitate increased organization engagement to better align with best practices.

  • Own and proactively improve financial models to enhance and streamline existing processes to compile, analyze and report on monthly financial results.

  • Lead the creation and implementation of financial model governance framework including the establishment of formalized procedures which adhere to best practices.

  • Operationalize financial contract management from a budgeting and analysis perspective.

  • Present to senior leadership and organization at large financial planning information and financial performance out comes.

  • Supports the VP with Board and committee material development.

Business Partnering:

  • Collaborate with department heads and senior leadership to align financial plans with organizational objectives.

  • Identify financial risk and leverage corporate risk framework to quantify risks, communicate to leadership and provide recommendations.

  • Serve as a liaison between finance and operational leaders to ensure effective resource allocation and utilization.

  • Identification and recommendation on operational cost management, revenue optimization and investment.

  • Develop and implement a program to engage operational leadership on financial management.

  • Foster transparency and accountability in financial reporting and decision-making processes.

TRAINING:

  • CPA and/or CFA designation or equivalent recognized accounting designation in progress or completed
  • Bachelor’s degree in business (accounting or finance) or related area

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years of progressive financial planning experience

  • 7+ years relevant experience working in full cycle accounting

  • Have excellent analysis skills and a detailed understanding of the tools which can support this

  • Has proven reporting and presentation skills inclusive of senior management and board level

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Finance & Operations considered an asset

  • Attention to detail and accuracy are essential

  • High level of business acumen and strong analytical and decision-making skills

  • Ability to make recommendations and communicate with senior management

  • Ability to build and maintain strong cross-functional working relationships

  • Solid knowledge of current accounting practices and technologies

  • Maintain accuracy and confidentiality in managing operational and financial information

Hiring Range: $95,200 - $113,050

Hiring and Salary Range Transparency

The salary range refers to the range of base salaries for a given position, encompassing the minimum and maximum amounts. The midpoint of the range is positioned approximately halfway between the minimum and maximum, indicating a fully qualified employee with comprehensive job knowledge and experience for the role.

Only in rare and exceptional circumstances, where a candidate has the experience, skills, and expertise that far exceed those required for the position, would we consider paying above the hiring range for this role.
