Jillian Murray

Director, Strategic Partnerships at Mitacs

Jillian Murray has a diverse work experience. Jillian started their career in 2005 at the University of Windsor, where they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant, focusing on synthetic organometallic chemistry. During this time, they conducted research for their doctoral degree and also served as a Graduate Assistant and Teaching Assistant, responsible for the safety and teaching of undergraduate students.

In 2011, Jillian joined the University of Toronto as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Chemistry. Their research focused on Frustrated Lewis Pair (FLP) chemistry and expanding the scope of substrates available for catalytic hydrogenation. Jillian also played a role in the development of new FLP catalysts.

Since 2013, Jillian has been working at Mitacs, where they have held various roles. Jillian initially joined as an Account Manager and Business Development Director, and recently transitioned to the position of Director, Strategic Partnerships.

Jillian Murray holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Windsor, which they obtained between 2006 and 2011. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Honors Biochemistry with Thesis at the University of Windsor from 2002 to 2006. In addition to their academic achievements, they also obtained the certification of Certified SAFe® 6 Agilist from Scaled Agile, Inc. in 2023.
