Diyamanthi Gunaratne

Diyamanthi Gunaratne has an extensive work experience spanning over several industries. Diyamanthi currently serves as the Global Head of Finance at Mitra Innovation since January 2022, and prior to that, they worked as the Financial Controller at the same company from July 2019 to December 2021.

Before joining Mitra Innovation, Diyamanthi served as the Director of Finance at BELA Group of Companies from June 2005 to June 2019. BELA Group operates in the power sector, providing infrastructure solutions and consultancy services. During their tenure, Diyamanthi managed various partnerships with global corporations and oversaw the design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and testing of electrical balance of plant required for substations, mini hydros, wind power plants, and related activities.

In their earlier career, Diyamanthi worked as a Directorial Accountant at Brown & Company PLC from July 2002 to June 2005. Brown & Co is a diversified conglomerate with agencies for renowned FMCG brands. Prior to that, they served as a Manager Finance at GTB Colombo Corporation (Pvt) Ltd. from March 2000 to July 2002, where they computerized the finance function.

Diyamanthi's career began at EY in December 1991, where they worked as a Qualified Assistant until April 1999. During their time at EY, they gained valuable experience in accounting and auditing.

Additionally, Diyamanthi held the position of Accountant at ABANS ELECTRICALS PLC from April 1999 to February 2000. ABANS ELECTRICALS is a member of the Abans Group and is involved in manufacturing, assembly of household electrical and furniture items, and after-sales service. Diyamanthi'sresponsibilities included preparing annual reports and quarterly accounts for publication.

Diyamanthi Gunaratne holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Business Administration and Management, General from the University of Wales, which was obtained between 2009 and 2012. Diyamanthi also obtained a degree in Finance and Financial Management Services (FCA) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka between 1991 and 1998. Additionally, they have completed the 21st Century Board Leadership Model Masterclass certification from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka in 2021.
