Lucy Ying-Ju Chu

Lucy Ying-Ju Chu is an accomplished Optical Engineer with a robust background in optical design and development. Currently at MLOptic since May 2023, Lucy has led calibration for imaging colorimeters and spectroradiometers, driving advancements in device accuracy and innovation in emerging technologies like smart glasses. Previously, at Meta, Lucy optimized optical designs for Reality Labs, significantly improving manufacturability and analyzing optical artifacts. As a Graduate Research Assistant at both the Rochester Institute of Technology and the University of Rochester, Lucy focused on laser and optics metrology, constructing imaging systems, and collaborating on advanced polarization technologies. Lucy holds a PhD in Imaging Science from the Rochester Institute of Technology, an MS in Biomedical Engineering and Optics from the University of Rochester, and a BS in Photonics from National Cheng Kung University.
