Pekka Savander is an experienced engineering manager and project leader with a diverse background in medical device manufacturing and technology development. At Mobidiag, A Hologic Company, Pekka served as Senior Engineering Manager, overseeing the construction, commissioning, and validation of production lines for PCR-based IVD consumable products in compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 standards. Previously, as Automation Project Manager at Phillips-Medisize, Pekka managed automated assembly line processes for medical device production. With significant experience as Vice President at Nanocomp Oy Ltd. in the plastic micro-optics sector, and in various positions including Technology Manager at Joensuu Science Park Ltd. and Product Designer at Abloy Oy, Pekka has developed expertise in business management, technology transfer, and product design. Academic qualifications include a PhD, LicPhil, and MSc in Physics with a focus on optics from Joensuun yliopisto, a Master of Engineering in Competence Management of Technology from Karelia University of Applied Sciences, and a Further Qualification in Foreign Trade from The Finnish Institute of International Trade.
