Vesa Saarinen

Vesa Saarinen has extensive experience in risk management, having held various leadership roles in different companies. Most recently, they served as the Head of Risk Management at Vipps MobilePay starting in May 2023. Prior to that, they were the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) at MobilePay from March 2019.

Before joining MobilePay, Vesa worked at Nordea as a Unit Business Risk Manager from June 2017 to February 2019. In this role, they were responsible for leading and developing risk management in Nordea Transaction Banking Cash Management B2B business, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.

Earlier in their career, Vesa worked at Nets Finland, where they held various roles in risk management. From September 2013 to May 2017, they served as a Senior Development Manager, responsible for risk management. Vesa also held the position of Development Manager in risk management from January 2013 to September 2013, and from December 2011 to January 2013. Prior to that, they worked as a Risk Management Specialist from August 2010 to December 2011.

Vesa's career began at 4Ks Finland Oy, where they held the position of Manager, Products & Risk Management from June 2008 to August 2010. Prior to that, they worked as a Risk Management Specialist from January 2005 to June 2008.

Through their diverse work experience, Vesa has developed a deep understanding of risk management and has successfully implemented risk management strategies in various organizations.

Vesa Saarinen completed their Bachelor's Degree in Risk Management (ERM) at Laurea University of Applied Sciences in the years 2003 to 2006. Following this, they pursued further education at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences from 2010 to 2011, specializing in Computer Networks and Security and obtaining an AMK Erikoistumisopinnot degree. From 2012 to 2014, Saarinen continued their education at Laurea University of Applied Sciences, obtaining a Master's Degree in Risk Management (ERM).
