Bennett Kalafut

Bennett Kalafut has extensive experience in software engineering and mass spectrometry research and development. Bennett started their career at the University of Arizona, where they focused on DNA-protein interactions and optical tweezers. Bennett then moved on to UC San Francisco as a Postdoctoral Scholar before joining Thermo Fisher Scientific, where they worked on instrument control software development. Bennett is currently serving as Principal Software Engineer at MOBILion Systems, Inc. Their expertise lies in developing software for mass spectrometers and automation of analytical method development. Additionally, they have experience teaching physics courses at the University of Arizona Outreach College.

Bennett Kalafut completed their Bachelor of Science in Physics at Tulane University from 1999 to 2003. Bennett then pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physics at the University of Arizona from 2003 to 2011. In 2015, they attended UCSC Silicon Valley Extension. In 2021, Bennett obtained certifications in Data Visualization with Python and Machine Learning with Python from Coursera.
