Paul Comfort has a diverse work experience in various leadership and managerial roles in the transit and government sectors. Paul has held positions such as SVP & Chief Customer Officer at Modaxo since 2022, Executive Director at North American Transit Alliance (NATA) since 2020, and SVP & Chief Customer Officer at Trapeze Group from 2017 to 2022. Paul was also the Chief Executive Officer at MTA Maryland from 2015 to 2017, where they oversaw a large transit system. Prior to that, they served as County Commissioner at Queen Anne's County Government in 2014-2015, and Director of Operations at MV Transportation from 2010 to 2015. Paul Comfort has also worked as an Attorney and Consultant, County Administrator, and County Administrator at various government organizations.
Paul Comfort attended the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law from 1992 to 1996 and earned a Juris Doctor degree in Law. Prior to that, they studied at the University of Maryland Baltimore County from 1985 to 1987, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude in History. Paul started their higher education at Chesapeake College, where they earned an Associate of Arts degree in Humanities & Social Sciences from 1983 to 1985. Additionally, Paul Comfort holds certifications such as being a member of the Maryland Bar, obtained in 1996, and being a fellow of the Academy for Excellence in Local Government at the University of Maryland.
