Job description

The FP&A Finance manager is a key member of the FP&A team at Model N and has a visible role in supporting the Company’s planning and analysis efforts for R&D and other teams. This manager position will interface and effectively develop partnerships with senior and executive leaders, members of the Finance and Accounting leadership team, including the VP of Finance and CFO. The position will be responsible for partnering with Product teams, People, and Legal teams to support expense and profitability analytics and reporting. This position will also support analytics of the Company’s EBITDA, ARR, and other key metrics during the forecast & close cycles. The role reports directly to the VP of Finance.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner closely with senior leadership to identify opportunities to optimize R&D spending; prepare concise and insightful summary analysis for Senior Management.
  • Provide key drivers through monthly management reporting, influence business decisions with insights and recommendations, drive ownership and accountability with KPIs.
  • Identify and define productivity measures to understand and optimize resource allocation in ways that accelerate our SaaS and Expert Services business growth.
  • Partner with cross-functional business teams to drive expense forecasting, analysis, and reporting; responsible for the close and budget process; and current year expense forecasting.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and risk mitigation across Model N.
  • Effectively translate data into actionable insights, strategies and financial plans.
  • Enhance existing financial models to enable more accurate and detailed forecasting for VTB, VTF, expense and gross margin.
  • Business performance analysis and insight, including financial evaluations and profitability.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement and process excellence and systems improvements.
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis to support business decisions and collaborate with FP&A on projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or quantitative field. MBA a plus.
  • 4-8 years progressive experience in financial planning and analysis.
  • Technically sound, systems savvy with advanced skills in Excel modeling, PowerPoint; proficiency with ERP (NetSuite), CRM (Salesforce), and BI tools (Adaptive Insights) a plus.
  • Experience in SaaS or software industry experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills with the ability to interpret and summarize data to aid management in achieving strategic and operational goals.
  • Effective influencer and thought leader to help drive key business decisions and initiatives by partnering closely across teams and functions.
