Michael McCarthy has had a diverse work experience in the media industry. Michael began their career as an Editorial Director at Active Interest Media from 2005 to 2009. Michael then moved on to become an Editor-in-Chief & Content Director at McMurry/TMG, where they worked from 2009 to 2013. At McMurry/TMG, Michael was responsible for overseeing various media platforms, including a magazine, TV show, and website. Following this, they joined Modern Luxury as an Editor-in-Chief from 2013 to 2018. In this role, they led content creation and managed print, digital, and video content for Modern Luxury Media's DC magazine. Additionally, they organized magazine events in the city. Michael later transitioned to Fairfax City, where they served as a Communications and Marketing Director from 2018 to 2019. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President and Editor-in-Chief for Modern Luxury's DC Market.
Michael McCarthy has a Bachelor of Arts degree in History/English from George Mason University. Michael also holds a Master of Arts degree in English from The Johns Hopkins University.
