Andrew James has a diverse work experience beginning in 2016, when they were a Maintenance Technician Intern at Ashley Furniture Industries. In 2017, they were a Coach at CyberKids Robotics and an Automation Engineer Intern at Ashley Furniture Industries. In 2018, they were a Process Engineer Intern at Smartrac. In 2019, they were an Undergraduate Research Assistant in the Computer Science Department at the University of North Carolina at Asheville and a Mechatronics Engineer Intern at FOX Factory. In 2020, they were a Jr Autonomous Navigation Engineer at Leidos. Currently, they are an Electrical Engineer at Modular Robotics and a Mechatronics Engineer at Driven Tech, where they are tasked with developing an electronic shifter for a chainless bicycle drivetrain.
Andrew James began their educational journey at Davidson County Community College, where they earned an Associate of Arts degree in General Studies in 2015. Andrew then dual-enrolled at North Carolina State University and the University of North Carolina Asheville, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Mechatronics in 2020.
