Jin Xu

Jin Xu is a highly experienced bioinformatics staff scientist II at Moffitt Cancer Center, specializing in the development and maintenance of bioinformatics and biostatistics pipelines for cancer microbiome research. Previous roles include postdoctoral researcher and research assistant at the University of Florida, focusing on plant and soil microbiomes, where Jin led data analysis, interpretation, and the generation of genomic features associated with citrus diseases. Jin has also served as Director of Bioinformatics at Total Genomics Solutions and Project Manager at BGI-Shenzhen, managing teams and leading bioinformatics efforts for environmental microbiomes. Jin holds a PhD in Plant Pathology/Microbiome from the University of Florida, along with a Master's in Hydrobiology from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a Bachelor's in Aquaculture from Huazhong Agricultural University.
