W. Gregory Sawyer

W. Gregory Sawyer serves as the Chair of the Department of BioEngineering at Moffitt Cancer Center since April 2023. Previously, Sawyer held the position of Professor at the University of Florida from August 1999 to April 2023. In early 1992, Sawyer contributed to the Advanced Mechanical Systems group at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where responsibilities included the design and development of the Mars Rover and the pioneering of the 6-wheeled rocker-bogie suspension system. Sawyer earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute between 1989 and 1999.
