Michael Newton

Michael Newton has worked in a variety of positions since 2004. Michael began their career as a Research Assistant at Vernalis, where they gained valuable lab experience and exposure to the Pharmaceuticals industry. In 2007, they were a Nuffield Undergraduate Research Bursary Recipient at the Babraham Institute, and in 2008 they returned to the Institute as a Research Assistant in Biochemistry and Assay Development. In 2009, they undertook a four-year Integrative Neuroscience PhD Programme at Cardiff University, supervised by Prof. Alun Davies FRS. From 2013 to 2020, Michael worked as an Associate (European & UK Patent Attorney), European Patent Attorney and Technical Assistant at Kilburn & Strode. Michael then took a secondment as a Patent Attorney at Kymab Ltd. In 2022, they joined Mogrify as Head of IP.

Michael Newton attended Hills Road Sixth Form College, Cambridge from 2002 to 2004, where they obtained A-levels. Michael then attended the University of Southampton from 2005 to 2008, where they obtained a B.Sc. in Biochemistry. In 2014 and 2015, they attended Queen Mary University of London, where they obtained a Certificate in Intellectual Property Law.
