Pepe Ballester

Pepe Ballester has extensive work experience in the field of cellular biology and tissue engineering. Pepe is currently working at Mogrify as a Manager and previously held the role of Senior Scientist. At Mogrify, Pepe managed two research grants and contributed to the development of a proprietary cellular conversion technology.

Prior to their time at Mogrify, Pepe worked at the University of Cambridge as a Postdoctoral Research Associate and a Demonstrator for Biology of Cells. Pepe also had a collaboration with the University of Bristol for a short stay. Additionally, Pepe had a PhD internship at the University of Glasgow.

Pepe's academic journey started as a PhD student at the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, where they worked on sandwich-like systems for engineering the cellular microenvironment. During their time there, they developed a novel 3D culture system and validated its effectiveness in studying cell behavior. Pepe also supervised students and collaborated in teaching.

Pepe also had a PhD internship at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, a research grant at CIBER BBN, an industry internship at METIS BIOMATERIALS, and a collaboration with the Biomaterials & Cardiac Regeneration Units at CIPF. Pepe also had a research grant at the Cardiovascular Regeneration and Transplantation Unit at Hospital La Fe de Valencia.

Pepe obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Biomedical Biotechnology from Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) from 2010 to 2014. Prior to that, they completed their M.Sc. in Biomedical Biotechnology at the same institution from 2009 to 2010. Pepe also holds a B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Biotechnology from UPV, which they earned from 2005 to 2009.

In 2021, Pepe attended ThePower Business School, where they obtained The PowerMBA degree. Pepe also received certifications in Entrepreneurship & Harvard Business Publishing Education from ThePower Business School in November 2022.
