Suzanne Thomas has been in the scientific field for over fifteen years. Suzanne began their career in 2006 as a Research Assistant at Stony Brook University, where they studied the biochemical function of Mycobacterium tuberculosis enzymes involved in cholesterol metabolism. Suzanne also served as a Teaching Assistant at the university. In 2013, they joined the Salk Institute for Biological Studies as a Postdoctoral Research Associate, where they focused on the early steps of the enzymatic pathways that produce isopententyl pyrophosphate for downstream synthesis of an essential class of molecules, isoprenoids. In 2016, they moved to the Howard Hughes Medical Institute as a Research Associate. Two years later, they joined the Salk Institute again as a Staff Researcher. In 2021, they began their current role as a Scientist III at Molecular Assemblies, Inc.
Suzanne Thomas received their Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Susquehanna University in 2006. Suzanne then went on to pursue their PhD in Chemistry at Stony Brook University, which they completed in 2012.
