Craig Barnes has a diverse range of work experience in the field of automation and engineering. Craig started their career as an Animal Technician at Huntingdon Life Sciences in 2006 and then moved on to become an Aerosol Technologist before transitioning to the role of Bio-medical Engineer. During their time at Huntingdon Life Sciences, they gained expertise in repairing medical devices, designing and manufacturing medical equipment, and ordering parts and materials. In 2014, Barnes joined Johnson Controls as an Automation Engineer, where they focused on repairing and maintaining laboratory-based automation equipment, as well as designing inhalation equipment for GlaxoSmithKline. Since 2017, Barnes has been working at Molecular Devices, initially as a Product Support and Customer Success Engineer and later transitioning to roles such as Global Automation Solutions Engineer and Automation and Workflow Success Engineer. In their current position as a Global Automation Workflow and Design Engineer, they are responsible for designing, building, installing, servicing, and repairing customized automated integrated systems. Craig'srole also includes training customers and engineers worldwide. Overall, Barnes has extensive experience in automation, workflow design, customer support, and engineering in the biotechnology and life sciences industries.

Craig Barnes attended Peterborough College in 2014, where they pursued a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Mechanical Engineering.
