Shan D. has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. They started their career as a Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic in 2002, where they developed novel techniques for processing physiological data and co-authored a research publication. In 2004, they joined Pfizer Global R&D as a Senior Associate Scientist, eventually being promoted to Scientist. At Deloitte Consulting, Shan worked as a Senior Consultant and later as an Engagement Manager from 2008 to 2014. During their time at Leica Biosystems, Shan held two roles: Director, Market Analytics and Strategy from 2014 to 2017, and Director of Growth, overseeing commercial strategy, analytics, sales training, inside sales, and customer service from 2017 to 2021. Currently, Shan is the VP of Strategy and Innovation at Molecular Devices, starting in April 2021. Their academic background includes being a Graduate Student Research Assistant at the University of Michigan, managing a team for a science education project funded by a $4.5M NSF grant.

Shan D. has a diverse education history. From 1990 to 1996, they attended Delhi Public School RK Puram where they obtained their AISSCE degree with a focus on Science. They then went on to enroll at Delhi University from 1996 to 2000, where they earned their B.E. degree in Electrical Engineering. Following this, from 2000 to 2003, Shan pursued a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Michigan. Finally, they attended the University of Michigan - Stephen M. Ross School of Business from 2006 to 2008, where they achieved an MBA with High Distinction in the field of Strategy and Finance.
