Michael Sanderson

Senior Director, Head Of Translational Medicine at Molecular Partners

Michael Sanderson has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of translational medicine and pharmaceutical research. Currently, they are working at Molecular Partners as the Senior Director and Head of Translational Medicine. Prior to this, they held various positions at Merck KGaA, including Head of Search and Evaluation for Biomarker & Clinical Technologies and Translational Biomarker Leader. Michael also has experience in research and drug discovery from their time at Boehringer Ingelheim, where they served as a Research Laboratory Head and Postdoctoral Scientist. Before that, they worked as a Postdoctoral Scientist at dkfz - German Cancer Research Center and as a Visiting PhD Student at the Pacific Northwest Diabetes Research Institute. Michael Sanderson's work has resulted in numerous peer-reviewed publications and collaborations with academic institutions and clinical investigators.

Michael Sanderson completed their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree at the University of Adelaide from 1994 to 1996. Michael then pursued an Honours degree in Biochemistry at the same university in 1997. Later, they attended Flinders University where they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from 2001 to 2005.
