Chris Moore

Senior Vice President, Head of Preclinical Development and Translational Medicine at Molecular Templates

Chris Moore has a diverse work experience in the field of immunology and translational medicine. In their current role at Molecular Templates, they serve as the Senior Vice President and Head of Preclinical Development and Translational Medicine, responsible for advancing novel immuno-oncology programs and overseeing non-clinical studies and early development. Prior to this, they were the Vice President and Head of Immunology and Translational Medicine at the same company.

Chris has also worked as an Adjunct Associate Professor of Immunology at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, Drexel University, and BARUCH S BLUMBERG INSTITUTE. At Arbutus Biopharma Corporation, they held the positions of Senior Director and Head of Immunology, leading the development of a cure for Hepatitis B virus infection. Chris also played a key role in establishing the Immunology team and implementing immunotherapy discovery and clinical strategy.

Before their industry roles, Chris worked at GSK as the Chief Scientist, Group Leader, Investigator, and Program Leader. Chris started their career as a Research Assistant Professor and Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where they made significant contributions to the field of immunology, including the discovery of NLRX1.

Chris Moore completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 1990 to 1994. Following that, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Immunology and Biotechnology at North Carolina State University, which they completed between 1995 and 1998. Later, from 1998 to 2002, they pursued a Ph.D. in Immunology at North Carolina State University as well.
