Bernardo Caldas

Bernardo Caldas has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Bernardo is currently serving as the Director of Data at Mollie since September 2022. Additionally, they hold the position of Member of Data Leadership Council at Tola Capital from December 2022. In 2021, they were invited as a Data & AI Guest Speaker at Nova School of Business and Economics. Bernardo is also the Co-Founder and Member of the Lead Team at Data Science for Social Good Portugal since July 2018. Bernardo previously co-founded a Stealth Startup, where they served as the Chief Data and Technology Officer from June 2021 to July 2022, focusing on monetizing banking data. Before that, they held the position of Head of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at NOVO BANCO from March 2019 to May 2021. Bernardo has also worked at Vodafone, where they served as Head of Data & AI and Europe Hub Lead Data Scientist, among other roles. Bernardo began their career at IBM as a Project Manager and Business Analytics & Strategy Consultant and worked as a Researcher at Coreworks.

Bernardo Caldas completed their education with a Master's Degree in Advanced Computing - Machine Learning from Imperial College London in 2013. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico between 2009 and 2011. From 1997 to 2009, they attended Colégio de S. João de Brito, although the specific degree and field of study during that time are not mentioned. In addition to their formal education, Bernardo received a Certificate of Proficiency in English from Cambridge ESOL in December 2012.
