Elizabeth Weathers

Chief Privacy, Ethics & Human Resources Officer at MoneyGram

Elizabeth Weathers was appointed Chief Privacy, Ethics & Human Resources Officer in January 2021. She joined MoneyGram in 2015 as Senior Legal Counsel for global employment. During her time with the Company, Weathers has led employment litigation, human resources, corporate ethics, marketing compliance, intellectual property and global privacy.

Prior to joining MoneyGram, Weathers spent five years with JCPenney as an employment, litigation and operations attorney. She also spent 10 years with two AM Law 200 law firms in Dallas where she tried nationwide class action, multi-district litigation and complex/mass tort claims in addition to management-side employment matters.

Weathers received her J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law, where she interned for the Texas Supreme Court. She received her Bachelor of Arts in English and Russian magna cum laude from Ouachita Baptist University. Weathers also completed a semester at the Alma-Ata Power Engineering Institute in Alma-Ata Kazakhstan and two years of graduate work in Slavic Linguistics at the University of Texas at Austin. She holds a CIPP-U.S. certification through the International Association of Privacy Professionals and an LPEC certification through Ethics and Compliance Initiative.
