Alex Kass

Alex Kass has extensive work experience in data science and machine learning. Recently, they worked at MongoDB as the Director of Data Science. Prior to that, Alex held the position of Head of Data Science / Machine Learning at Okta, where they led ML/AI initiatives across product, engineering, and GTM. They have a proven track record of managing teams and implementing machine learning models for various use cases.

Before joining Okta, Alex worked at DigitalOcean as an Engineering Manager and Senior Data Science Engineer/Team Lead. They built machine learning applications and pipelines to support business intelligence and analytical tools in the cloud hosting space. As the team lead, Alex also developed a scalable data platform for providing product and infrastructure insights to business leaders.

Alex has also worked as a Machine Learning Data Scientist at CompStak®, a Data Scientist at Amplify Education, and an Application Support Analyst at UBS Investment Bank. Additionally, they have experience as a Technological Consultant, Tutor, Technical Director/Audio Specialist at Princeton University, and Teaching Fellow/Recording Engineer at Yale University.

Alex Kass graduated from Yale University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cognitive Science. Following a gap of six years, from 2003 to 2009, Alex pursued further education and obtained a Master of Music degree in Music Technology from New York University in 2005. Finally, in 2011, Alex completed a Master of Arts degree in Statistics from Columbia University.
