Technical Product Manager, Business Analytics

Job description

What if… you could join an organization that creates, resources, and builds life sciences companies that invent breakthrough technologies in order to transform health care and sustainability?

Montai Therapeutics is a privately held, early-stage biotechnology company developing a platform for understanding and leveraging complex molecular interactions within organisms to solve global challenges in human health and sustainability. The company leverages a multidisciplinary approach that integrates tools ranging from machine learning and big data to multi-omics and high-throughput screening.

At Montai, we nurture a bold, spirited, and leading-edge culture dedicated to strengthening human health:

  • We are one team with omnidirectional trust, empowered and accountable
  • We are strong as individuals but stronger as a team and we are committed to excellence
  • We have a sense of urgency and persistence, and we are crazily confident that we can make a difference
  • We need to be comfortable with the uncomfortable and be rigorous and we recognize that failure is data
  • We care for diversity in people, thought, personality, opinions, background and distinctiveness
  • We have a sense of humor to help us manage through our strategic noise

Position Summary

Montai is seeking a highly skilled Technical Product Manager to join our Product Management team. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise in business analytics and drug development. This role requires a strategic thinker who can drive result-oriented projects while focusing on operational excellence to enhance efficiency and innovation. Strong communication skills are essential to effectively convey insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of business analytics products, driving product strategy and roadmap development.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including product requirements and user stories.
  • Translate stakeholder feedback into actionable features for Montai’s platform, focusing on sustainable tools such as dashboards, reports, analytics, and applications to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams — including engineering, data science, and lab science — to gather requirements, build product plans, and map interdependencies.
  • Implement strategies to enhance operational alignment with Montai’s task chain from Nominations to Screening, driving efficiency and innovation.
  • Communicate technical information and project status to non-technical stakeholders, including product vision, roadmap, and results.
  • Promote an innovative environment by alleviating operational and data-reporting burdens from technical teams, allowing them to focus on technological and strategic initiatives responsive to the evolving needs of the business.
  • Proactively identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies to address potential challenges and maintain project continuity.

Qualifications

  • Degree in a STEM field or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in a technical role, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, with experience in product management and business analytics.

Skills and Capabilities

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with drug discovery processes, including target identification, lead optimization, and preclinical development.
  • Strong understanding of product management principles and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
  • Experience with product roadmap development and prioritization.
  • Ability to translate scientific and technical information into product requirements and features.
  • Ability to query databases using SQL, and familiarity with R and Python.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation to inform product decisions effectively.
