Steven Caroulis

Steven Caroulis has a diverse work experience spanning several banks and financial institutions. Steven is currently working as the Sr. Vice President / Credit Administrator at Montecito Bank & Trust since September 2021. Previously, they held the same role at Farmers & Merchants Bank of Long Beach from April 2016 to September 2021.

Before that, they worked as the Sr. Vice President / Credit Administrator at Community West Bank from May 2012 to February 2016. In this role, they were a voting member of the Bank’s OFFICER'S LOAN COMMITTEE and had loan approval authority up to $250M.

Prior to Community West Bank, they served as the Vice President, Manager of Special Assets at Pacific Premier Bank from April 2010 to May 2012. Steven directed a team responsible for resolving problem loans and disposing of foreclosed assets.

Steven also worked as a Vice President at Aurora Bank (formerly Lehman Brothers Bank) from March 2007 to March 2010. Steven oversaw a team of asset officers and developed strategies for resolving problem real estate loans.

Earlier in their career, they held the position of Vice President at Washington Mutual Bank from December 1998 to March 2007. Steven served as a Credit Manager in the Commercial Division, analyzing borrower financials and presenting loan proposals to the Senior Loan Committee.

Steven began their career at Freddie Mac, where they worked as a Rep from 1987 to 1989.

Steven Caroulis has a Bachelor's degree from UCLA, which they completed in an unspecified year prior to 1982. Steven also obtained a Certificate in Real Estate Finance from UCLA Extension, which they completed between 1987 and 1990. In addition, they earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a focus in Finance from the California State University, Los Angeles - College of Business and Economics, which they completed between 1992 and 1995.
