Private equity funds have long been one of the most attractive investment opportunities, outperforming public market benchmarks, like the S&P 500. But these funds have also been difficult or impossible to access, especially for individuals. Onerous paperwork, high investment minimums (~€10m) and difficulty picking a fund have all been hurdles that kept individuals out. Access has always been dominated by institutions or a select few. Strategic Finance Manager  (m/f/d)

As our first Strategic Finance Manager you accelerate business growth by identifying and implementing new opportunities and solutions by analysing the market and competitors and partner with our internal teams to improve the profitability and scalability of the Moonfare business model.

You will:

  • Have impact by supporting major company initiatives such as implementing ROI and LTV frameworks, cost benchmarking, relevant business KPIs, identifying margin improvements, and business case modelling for strategic projects
  • Drive accountability through performance management, SLA tracking for all teams and facilitate the company wide OKR process
  • Manage strategic and operational cost controlling, driving budget discipline, cost reduction, and efficiency improvement 
  • Partner with all areas of the business to increase efficiency and decrease complexity and costs at Moonfare
  • Support in corporate development projects, including validating M&A opportunities, strategic partnerships and other inorganic opportunities
  • Additional strategic topics include, but are not limited to, cost optimisation, pricing projects, market expansion, and offshoring

The next Moonfarian:

  • 3-4 years experience working within a Strategic/Growth Finance position, ideally within a scale up 
  • Experience in investment banking, venture capital or growth investing and looking to pivot to a high growth startup is also desirable   
  • Has knowledge of corporate finance topics, including financial statements and key financial ratios, and understanding of business valuation methods, fundraising, capital structures, etc.
  • Project Management and exceptional collaboration skills and has previous experience working with a variety different stakeholders and is able to push projects to completion
  • Has excellent financial modelling skills, including macros, VBA, MS Office, SQL and understands the relationship between data and finance 
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Able to speak comfortably and with authority and has a keen attention to detail
