With a unique combination of on- and off-stage experience, Catherine Hancock brings hands-on artistic expertise and industry knowledge to Morahan Arts and Media as a Communications Specialist. Having worked in-house at the Metropolitan Opera, Carnegie Hall, and the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center, Catherine has supported artists and cultural institutions as a consultant since 2020. With extensive experience in Digital Marketing, Catherine helps artists and cultural institutions express themselves creatively in digital spaces, cultivating and implementing Marketing, Communications, and social media campaigns.
Catherine has earned positions at high-profile organizations by getting results. At the Metropolitan Opera, she increased their social media following by nearly 25% in less than a year. Her roles at Carnegie Hall and the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center supported the Communications, Artistic, Development, and Marketing teams – giving her a holistic understanding of the inner workings of performing arts operations. Catherine was also the Digital Marketing Manager at a leading Communications and Public Relations Agency, Improving her company’s email marketing open rates by 90%, her client’s social media followings by as much as 302%, and seeing link click increases reaching over 3K%. Catherine’s independent roster of clients includes major performing arts organizations, manuscript collections, individual artists, podcasts, and startups.
Catherine co-founded Creatives Care, a nonprofit providing affordable mental healthcare to NYC-based artists. The organization formally launched in 2022 and has referred more than 35 artists to providers, so far.
Catherine is a classically trained vocalist with degrees from The Juilliard School (BM 05’ & MM 11’) and Mannes School for Music at The New School (AD 15’). Catherine also earned a Digital Marketing Certificate from e-Cornell in 2020.
