VP of Engineering at Moralis

Matthew Waite has extensive work experience in various leadership roles within the technology industry. Matthew is currently serving as the VP of Engineering at Moralis Web3 starting in 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Klarna as the Director of Software Engineering from July 2021 to November 2022. During their time at Klarna, they led the software team in the Klarna Virtual Shopping domain, collaborating with other domains to provide merchant media and conversion platforms.

Before joining Klarna, Matthew worked as the VP of Software Engineering at HERO® from September 2020 to July 2021. Matthew also held the position of Director of Connected Car and Digital Technology at The AA from April 2018 to March 2020.

Additionally, Matthew has experience as the CTO and Board Member at Tantalum Corporation Ltd, where they built and led teams to develop global telematics, big data analytics, and payments platforms using technologies such as Spark, Marathon/Mesos, Cassandra, and Kafka.

Prior to that, they worked as the Director at Routemaster Consulting and founded SurePort, a parental Internet and social media monitoring company. Matthew has also held leadership roles at Hutchison Whampoa (Europe) Limited and BlackBerry. At BlackBerry, they served as the Director of Unified Communications Product Management as well as the Director of Product Management for Vodafone CBU.

Lastly, Matthew was part of the original startup team at 3, where they played a significant role in delivering a complex $700M handset and network integration project as the Head of Motorola Terminals Product Management.

Matthew Waite completed their Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Brighton between 1987 and 1991. Following that, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management from The Open University from 2000 to 2004. Additionally, they attended Bishop of Llandaff High School from 1981 to 1987, completing their O levels and A levels.
