Dr. Anize Appel

Executive Director, Center For Global Education And Associate Dean For Study Abroad at Moravian College

Dr. Anize Appel, MBA has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Dr. Anize began their career in 2010 as the Interim Head of School/Principal at JDSLV, where they established high standards for academic performance and supervised school operations. From 2014 to 2019, they served as an Adjunct Lecturer at Lehigh Carbon Community College, developing course content and delivering instruction through lectures. In 2015, Dr. Appel joined Northampton Community College, initially as an Adjunct Faculty member and later assuming the role of Assistant Director, Center for International Education. In this position, they managed international education staff, coordinated study abroad programs, fostered partnerships with colleges and organizations, and advised international students. Since 2019, they have been working as the Executive Director for the Center of Global Education and Associate Dean for Study Abroad at Moravian University.

Dr. Anize Appel, MBA, holds a diverse education history. In 1993, they completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Natural Science at Fordham University. Dr. Anize pursued further studies in education, obtaining a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Elementary Education from Cedar Crest College in 2006. In 2014, they completed their Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree in Administrative Leadership and International and Comparative Education at Drexel University. Dr. Appel recently continued their education by earning a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Moravian University in 2021. Additionally, they obtained the certification of Gilman Selection Panelist for the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program in 2023.
