Head of Medical & Performance at Morecambe Football Club

Oliver Howse has a diverse work experience in the field of sports rehabilitation and medical performance. Oliver currently holds the position of Head of Medical & Performance at Morecambe Football Club since November 2022. Prior to this role, they served as a Performance Therapist at the same club from June 2022 to November 2022. From June 2019 to June 2022, they worked as a 1st Team Sports Rehabilitator (Assistant to Lead Physio) at Morecambe Football Club.

In addition to their experience at Morecambe Football Club, Oliver owned and operated the Oliver Howse - Sports Injury Clinic from August 2016 to October 2020. In this role, they provided sports rehabilitation treatment and advice to individuals from various sporting backgrounds.

Oliver also gained experience at other football clubs, such as Barrow AFC, where they worked as a 1st Team Sports Rehabilitator from January 2019 to May 2019. At Blackpool Football Club, they held the position of Head of Academy Medical from July 2017 to February 2019 and worked as an Academy Sports Rehabilitator from May 2016 to July 2017.

Prior to these roles, Oliver was the Head 1st Team Sports Rehabilitator at Bamber Bridge Football Club Limited from January 2016 to November 2017. Oliver was responsible for overseeing sports rehabilitation, providing medical support, first aid, and contributing to fitness sessions and prehabilitation.

During their career, Oliver also worked in the community sports sector at Morecambe FC from June 2015 to July 2016 and as a Trainee Sports Rehabilitator at Physio&Therapy from October 2014 to March 2015. Oliver began their professional journey as a Trainee Sports Rehabilitator at Morecambe FC from June 2013 to May 2014.

Oliver Howse began their education at Ripley St Thomas CofE High School, where they completed their GCSE's from 2002 to 2007. Following this, they pursued a degree in Sport Studies at Lancaster and Morecambe College from 2010 to 2012. After completing their diploma, Oliver went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Sports Rehabilitation (Hons) from the University of Cumbria, where they studied from 2012 to 2015. Building on this foundation, they then pursued further specialization in Sports Medicine, earning an MSc from the University of Central Lancashire from 2021 to 2023. Oliver's educational journey reflects a commitment to their passion for sports and a desire to expand their knowledge and skills in sports-related fields.
