Austin Jerard Byrdsell

Austin "Auzzy" Jerard Byrdsell has a diverse range of work experience. Austin "Auzzy" Jerard has worked as a News Reporter at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, starting in September 2023. Austin "Auzzy" Jerard also founded and served as the President of MCABJ (Morehouse College Association of Black Journalists) during the same year. From May 2023, they were the Editor in Chief of Maroon Tiger.

In terms of their experience at Morehouse College, Austin served as the Vice President of the James P. Haines Society, where they collaborated with students in the kinesiology department to improve the network and community. Austin "Auzzy" Jerard also held a leadership position as the Alumni Association Member Services Coordinator Leader, overseeing procedures and orchestrating events and projects.

Austin "Auzzy" Jerard has also had internship experience, including a role as a Communications/Media Intern for the Boston Celtics, where they curated content and assisted with content distribution. Austin was also involved in the HBCU Media Collective at The Wall Street Journal, completing business and finance multimedia workshops.

Other positions held by Austin include working as a Journalist at Open Campus and serving as a New Initiatives Office Intern at The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), where they assisted in project management and risk mitigation. Austin "Auzzy" Jerard also had short-term roles at the U.S. Department of State, including Information Technology System Administrator and Embassy Post Office Mail Room Assistant.

Austin "Auzzy" Jerard Byrdsell is currently pursuing a degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science at Morehouse College from 2020 to 2024.
