Enrique Martín López

Enrique Martín López, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Enrique is currently employed at Morningstar as the Senior Vice President of Quantitative Finance since January 2024. Prior to this, they worked as the Vice President of Quantitative Finance at Morningstar from July 2020 to December 2023.

Before joining Morningstar, Dr. López worked at Nokia Bell Labs, where they held multiple research positions. Enrique was a Principal Researcher in Machine Learning from January 2020 to July 2020, and before that, they served as a Principal Research Scientist from July 2018 to December 2019. Additionally, they also worked as a Senior Research Scientist, focusing on Distributed Ledger Technology and Applied Machine Learning, from January 2018 to June 2018.

Dr. López's earlier roles include a Senior Researcher position at Nokia from December 2014 to December 2017, and a Research Collaborator role at the University of Bristol from July 2014 to November 2014.

Furthermore, they have teaching experience as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Bristol from October 2010 to February 2013, where they taught various subjects in Mathematics and Physics. Enrique also gained research experience as a Summer Research Intern at both the University of Bristol and GSI Helmholtz Centre for Heavy Ion Research in 2010 and 2009, respectively.

Enrique Martín López, Ph.D. completed their education in the field of Physics. Enrique obtained their Bachelor's degree in Physics from Universidad de Salamanca in 2010. Enrique then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the University of Bristol, completing it in 2014. Additionally, they obtained certifications in Quantum Machine Learning from the University of Toronto and a Deep Learning Specialization from Coursera in 2019 and 2018 respectively.
