Alicia Lavire

Alicia Lavire is the current Vice President of Marketing & Communications at Morton Arboretum. Alicia has over 12 years of experience in marketing and communications, with a focus on brand management and marketing strategy.

Alicia began their career as a Communications Coordinator at Resurrection Life Church, where they managed projects and provided production support for website launches. Alicia then spent two years as a Project Manager at CHANGEffect, working with clients such as Shedd Aquarium, The Care of Trees, Allied Waste, Moody Radio, and Willow Creek. In this role, they were responsible for financial forecasting, estimating work, and meeting project budgets.

In November 2009, Alicia joined Shedd Aquarium as Senior Director of Marketing and Brand Management. In this role, they led a brand marketing and communications team of 10 FTEs responsible for 60% of annual operating revenue and 1.95MM annual guests. Alicia was also promoted to oversee the Tourism and Group Sales program. Alicia spent nearly 9 years at Shedd Aquarium before joining Morton Arboretum in February 2018.

Alicia Lavire has a BA in Communications from Grand Valley State University and a certification from the Kellogg Executive Education in the Kellogg Chief Marketing Officer Program.

Alicia Lavire reports to Gerard T. Donnelly, President & CEO. Alicia Lavire works with Murphy Westwood - VP, Science and Conservation, James Fawley - VP of Finance & CFO, and Kris Bachtell - VP, Collections & Facilities.
