Junior Laboratory Automation Engineer at Mosa Meat

Joe Caponi has diverse work experience in the field of laboratory automation, robotics, research, and education. Joe currently works at Mosa Meat as a Junior Laboratory Automation Engineer, where they manage liquid handling systems and automates workflows to optimize efficiency for laboratory scientists. Prior to this, Joe worked as a Laboratory Robotics Technician at Mosa Meat. Joe also gained research experience at Ridgeview Instruments AB as a Master's Student, where they conducted experiments and ensured bio-safety protocols were followed. Joe served as a Laboratory Team Leader for the iGEM Uppsala 2018 Competition, leading a team that focused on creating a biosensor for diagnosing parasites in horses. Additionally, Joe has worked as a University Research Assistant at the State University of New York College at Cortland, contributing to the development of a biosensor for detecting impurities in drinking water, and as a Supplemental Instruction Leader, assisting students in biology and zoology courses. Before their career in the sciences, Joe worked as a Massage Therapist.

Joe Caponi has a comprehensive education history that includes obtaining a Master's degree in Biotechnology from Uppsala University, which they completed in 2019. Prior to that, from 2014 to 2016, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Science, with a minor in Chemistry, at the State University of New York Cortland. Before their undergraduate studies, from 2011 to 2013, Joe attended Columbia-Greene Community College, where they earned an Associate of Arts and Sciences - AAS degree in Massage Therapy/Therapeutic Massage.
