Emily Cozart Mohammed

Emily Cozart Mohammed has held various roles throughout their work experience. Emily is currently serving as the Vice President of Development at Mother Jones since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Vote Solar as the Director of Philanthropy from 2019 to 2022 and as the Director of Leadership Gifts from 2019 to 2021. Before that, they were the Director of Philanthropy at Guardian News & Media from 2018 to 2019. Emily also has experience at Mother Jones, where they worked as the Associate Director of Development from 2012 to 2018. Emily started their career as an Associate Attorney at Paul Hastings from 2001 to 2002. Additionally, they co-founded WEdia, a start-up non-profit, where they served as the Executive Director from 2006 to 2008. Prior to that, Emily worked as the Director of External Relations at Cooke Center for Learning & Development from 2008 to 2012.

Emily Cozart Mohammed attended the College of Charleston, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies & Philosophy. Emily graduated Cum Laude from this institution. Additionally, they pursued further education at Vermont Law and Graduate School, where they earned a Juris Doctor degree. Emily also achieved the distinction of graduating Cum Laude from this program.
