Ted Genoways

Ted Genoways is currently serving as President’s Professor at The University of Tulsa since July 2022, while also contributing as a writer for Mother Jones since 2008. Genoways has experience as a freelance writer from 2012 to July 2022 and held the position of Editor-at-Large for both Pacific Standard Magazine (2017-2019) and OnEarth Magazine (2011-2015). Additionally, Genoways worked as an editor for the Virginia Quarterly Review from 2003 to 2012. Academically, Genoways holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in American Literature from the University of Iowa, a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Creative Writing from the University of Virginia, a Master of Arts (M.A.) in English Language and Literature from Texas Tech University, and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English Language and Literature from Nebraska Wesleyan University.
