Qianli Ma has several years of experience in the field of robotics. They started their career as a Robotics Intern at READY Robotics in 2016. Later, they joined The Johns Hopkins University as a Research Assistant in 2012 and also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. In 2014, Qianli Ma worked as an Assistant Editor at the Journal of Robotica. In 2017, they joined Motional and held various roles, including Senior Engineer, Senior Engineer II, and Senior Engineer Team Lead in Motion Planning. Currently, they are serving as the Principal Engineer Team Lead in Planning Expansion at Motional.
Qianli Ma received a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tianjin University in 2012. They then pursued a Master's degree in Robotics and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering at The Johns Hopkins University, completing their education in 2014 and 2017 respectively. Qianli Ma also obtained additional certifications, including "Design Pattern in Modern C++" from Udemy in 2021 and a "Self-Driving Car Engineer Nanodegree" from Udacity in 2019. In 2023, they are expected to obtain certifications in "Generic Programming Templates in C++" and "Software Design Patterns: Best Practices for Software Developers" from Educative.
