Mariano Belinky

Investment Partner at Motive Partners

Mariano Belinky joined Motive Partners in 2021 and is an Investment Partner based out of London. At Motive, Mariano leads Motive Ventures where he sources and executes investment opportunities with a focus on identifying trends and growth for Motive portfolio companies, through his extensive experience as a financial services and technology executive.

Prior to joining Motive, Mariano was the Global CEO of Santander Asset Management, where he led the turnaround of the company since the re-acquisition from Warburg Pincus and General Atlantic. Prior to this, Mariano co-founded and ran InnoVentures, Santander Group’s fintech-focused global VC fund, defining its investment approach, creating the 11-strong team and leading ~25 investments in portfolio companies. Before joining Santander InnoVentures, Mariano was a junior partner with McKinsey and Company, where he advised global banks and asset managers across Europe and the Americas. He previously spent three years as part of the research technology team at Bridgewater Associates, and before as a trader in cash equities and equity derivatives in his native Buenos Aires.

Mariano holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Philosophy from New York University and conducted doctoral studies in Artificial Intelligence at Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya in Spain.
