Dilene Upendra

Dilene attended the University of Maryland where she received a Master of Finance and B.S. in Finance and International Business. Prior to working with the Motley Fool Ventures team, she was a part of the The Motley Fool’s Member Services team where she assisted members with using fool.com.

While pursuing her master’s, Dilene volunteered for TerpTax. TerpTax provides free tax preparation services to low to mid-income individuals in the University of Maryland, College Park community according to VITA/TCE guidelines.

As an undergraduate student, Dilene participated in fundraising for Children’s National hospital, consulting for startups in Uganda and Ghana, and balancing portfolios while working in the institutional asset management space. Dilene loves to share her passion for finance with her peers and has been a mentor for several student programs, including Girls Who Invest, Girls for Business, and the Business, Society, and the Economy Scholars program at UMD.
