Joe Bowman

Joe Bowman has worked in the IT industry since 1999. Joe began their career as a Systems Administrator at Kiva Networking, where they were responsible for support and administration of 30+ internal RedHat Linux servers as well as providing contract consulting support services for external clients. In 2005, they moved to Progeny Linux Systems, where they took on the role of Security Engineer, responsible for packaging, testing, and publishing software security updates for a variety of Linux operating system distributions. In 2007, they joined Aftermath Linux Systems as a Security and Administration Consultant. In 2009, they were hired by Vertafore as a Senior Linux Administrator, where they were in charge of managing 50+ production and 150+ non-production servers. In 2014, they joined LeanLogistics as a Senior Systems Administrator. Finally, in 2016, they joined BluJay Solutions as an Enterprise Architect, responsible for planning, architecting, and leading the rengineering and migration of legacy datacenter-hosted SaaS applications to the AWS cloud. In 2019, they were hired by Motorcity Systems as a Senior DevOps Engineer.

Joe Bowman attended Rochester Institute of Technology from 1997 to 1998 and obtained an Incomplete B.S. in Computer Science. Joe also holds two certifications from Amazon Web Services (AWS): AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional, obtained in November 2018, and AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate, obtained in November 2016.
