The MVLA High School Foundation is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization which raises money from its parent, alumni and business community to fund academic programs at local high schools within the Mountain View-Los Altos High School District.  Since these programs are provided across the district, individual schools or organizations such as PTSAs or booster groups are unable to fund them.  The Foundation maintains a paid Executive Director, and on an annual basis, elects its Board of Directors, comprised of parent and community volunteers. Their time and energy enable the Foundation to maintain extremely low operating expenses, so more of every dollar donated goes directly to student programs.  Over $1.6 million was raised in 2016-17 to fund the following:

PSAT test fees for sophomores and juniors - $23,000
College visits for academic counselors and C&CC Coordinators - $40,000
