Michael Ruhwedel

Michael Ruhwedel has a diverse work experience in the software development industry. Michael currently holds the position of Head of Engineering at movingimage since December 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Java-Teamleiter at movingimage starting from January 2021.

Before joining movingimage, Michael worked at Small Improvements from October 2017 to September 2020. During their tenure there, they served as a Software Development Team Lead, leading a team of 3 to 4 full-stack developers. Michael also contributed as a senior developer and played a key role in the re-implementation of one of the core application modules. Michael actively participated in strategic meetings with c-level executives and was responsible for overhauling the build and deployment pipeline.

Prior to Small Improvements, Michael worked as a Software Developer at Small Improvements from November 2014 to October 2017. Michael then joined ImmobilienScout24 as a Java Software Developer from May 2012 to October 2014.

Michael also had experience in e-commerce, working as a Java Software Developer at Groupon from October 2011 to March 2012. During their time there, they implemented features for the back-office administration tool of the marketplace and successfully resolved critical performance issues.

Their career in software development started at Information Design One AG, where they worked as a Junior Software Developer from 2007 to 2010.

Michael Ruhwedel earned their Master's degree in Computer Science from Technische Universität Ilmenau, graduating in 2007.
