THIS IS A FULL-TIME POSITION BASED IN BANGALORE, INDIA  

THE ROLE

As a Business Data Analyst, you’ll closely work with all the business stakeholders for collection, usage and reporting of key data points.  Your focus will include designing, engineering, developing, documenting, and reporting analytical efforts to translate complex data into actionable business recommendations. Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• Writing and maintaining ETLs (Extract, Transform, Load) that operate on a range of structured and unstructured sources
• Providing data analysis, reporting, and support to internal and external stakeholders to drive business process improvements and achieve top-line objectives
• Interpreting business requirements and translating them into analytical objectives
• Building interactive dashboards and visualizations on Tableau and/or Google Data Studio
• Performing root cause analysis on business problems while providing recommendations in a timely manner using SQL, PL/SQL, ETL, and Excel
• Instilling a company wide-culture of data-first decision making and driving continuous data quality best practices

THE QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Business Analysis, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a  high-paced, tech-first company, with financial services experience preferred
• Strong working experience in SQL and AWS Redshift
• Strong working experience in Python
• Understanding of how relational databases work, how objects are linked with each other, different types of joins, and how to use them for reporting
• Familiarity using complex nested condition loops (using functions such as If, Where, Case, etc) and using logical operators (such as AND, OR, NOT, etc)
• Strong ability to understand how to use data to support and enhance business processes
• Ability to work with large relational datasets and derive insights from the same
• Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to express complex concepts in plain language to reach broader audiences

A passion for financial inclusion and access to higher education is a must, as well as comfortable working with a global team across multiple-time zones and sites!

In addition, you should be comfortable working in a fast growth environment, meaning a small agile team, fast-evolving roles and responsibilities, variable workload and tight deadlines, a high degree of autonomy, and 80-20 everything.
