Laura Szego has worked in a variety of roles since 2009. In 2009, they volunteered as a teacher of very young children and support worker for a volunteer project in Northern India, in schools, day-cares and orphanages. Laura attended Hindi language classes for beginners to support their ability to effectively communicate with staff and young children, and developed educational and creative lesson plans. In 2011, they worked as a Front of House at The Mulberry, providing smooth, timely service in a fast-paced environment of a busy restaurant and demonstrating good teamwork through effective communication with colleagues. In 2013, they were an Event Planning and Marketing at the University of East Anglia, contributing to the organisation and running of a recruitment event for students and business employers, communicating and establishing relationships with business employers and students before, during and post recruitment event, and creating online evaluative surveys to send out to event attendees. In 2014, they worked as a Talent Acquisition Coordinator at Symantec, where they had phone and written communication with external and internal contacts, supported senior recruiters to acquire interns by being a part of the interview panel, organised and coordinated diaries for the Director of Talent Acquisition and senior recruiters, and was aware of company branding and applied this to material to be publicised. Laura was also an EFL Teacher at International House, Valladolid, Spain in 2014. In 2015, they were an EFL Teacher at Kings Education, teaching multilingual groups General English on Summer School courses, planning and delivering appropriate classes according to student abilities for Elementary to Advance levels, and contributing to the development of Summer School syllabus. Laura was also an EFL Teacher at MILNER SCHOOL OF ENGLISH, WIMBLEDON, LIMITED in 2015, where they designed and managed students’ learning journeys in a professional, organised and person centred manner. In 2016, they were a Concierge and Support Specialist at Mr & Mrs Smith, where they understood and prioritised the needs of each client to create a smooth customer journey, used effective communication, industry insight and a positive, pragmatic attitude which led to winning two awards within their department, and provided one-to-one training to new starters on company processes and technical systems, supporting the development of the team.

Laura Szego has a diverse educational background. Laura attended Luckley Oakfield School in Wokingham from 2001 to 2008, where they completed A Levels. Laura then went on to the University of East Anglia from 2009 to 2012, where they received a BA in Society, Culture and Media from the School of Social, International and Political Studies. In 2008, they also earned a Practical Grade 7 Piano certificate from ABRSM. In 2006, they earned a Grade 5 Music Theory certificate from ABRSM. In 2014, they completed a CELTA from the English Language Centre Reading, Berkshire in Education. Laura also completed a Very Young Learner Extension Course from International House London in Education in 2015. Finally, in 2012, they completed a Holistic Massage, Physiology and Anatomy, Professional Conduct and Business Awareness course from Alison Rostron School of Massage in Holistic Health. In 2020, they began a UI/UX Design Course from CareerFoundry.
