Irfan Azam

Irfan Azam has extensive experience in various roles related to cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and software engineering. Irfan is currently working as a Distinguished Engineer and Lead for Cloud and DevOps at MRS Technologies. In this role, they lead the cloud infrastructure and DevOps team, handling client engagements, project estimations, system design, and architecture. Irfan leverages AWS and Azure cloud platforms to design and implement secure, resilient, scalable, cost-effective, and manageable cloud-based solutions.

Prior to MRS Technologies, Irfan worked as a Senior Software Infrastructure Engineer and Lead for Cloud and DevOps at RelationalAI. Here, they contributed to containerization, infrastructure as code, client SDKs, microservices, and DevOps projects. Irfan also led a development team and implemented FIPS 140-2 compliant database encryption features.

Before that, Irfan worked at Hypori Virtual Mobility as a Senior Software Engineer III. Irfan played a key role in migrating existing monolithic services to cloud-native microservices using DevOps principles. Irfan also designed and developed a cryptography engine serving as a proxy between Android Keymaster HAL and the hardware security module (HSM) for a strongbox implementation of crypto operations.

Irfan also has a strong background in software engineering and leadership roles at Dell, where they worked from 2008 to 2019. Irfan served as a Senior Principal Software Engineer, leading a development team for Dell's compute chassis product. Irfan also led a scrum team and executed successful sprints and projects. Additionally, they worked as a Principal Software Engineer and Tech Lead on the Dell Management Plug-in for vCenter project, receiving recognition for their contributions.

Prior to Dell, Irfan worked as a Senior Professional Services Engineer at Ultimus, where they worked on customer-centric business process management solutions and developed a distributed task management engine. Irfan also has experience as a Software Engineer at GAMCA, where they designed and developed a medical record tracking system using SQL and other technologies.

Irfan Azam completed their Master's in Computer Science from the International Islamic University, Islamabad from 2001 to 2004. Prior to that, they obtained a Master's Degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies from the University of the Punjab from 1997 to 1999. Irfan also holds additional certifications including IBM Enterprise Design Thinking Practitioner from IBM and certifications from Oracle and Microsoft as a Java Certified Professional (JCP), Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), and Oracle Certified Professional (OCP).
