Niel Lourens

Niel Lourens has extensive experience in the mining and metallurgical sectors, currently serving as Technical Manager at Multotec Canada Ltd. since August 2021, where responsibilities include overseeing technical proposals and project execution across North America. Prior to this, Niel held the position of Branch Manager at Moffatt Supply & Specialties, managing marketing and sales for Western Canada. Niel's career at Multotec began in 1999, progressing from Senior Process Engineer to Regional Business Manager, where the establishment of Multotec's first North American office was a significant achievement. Earlier roles include Product Manager and Metallurgical Manager at Samancor Chrome, where management of R&D projects and production were key responsibilities. Niel's career commenced as a Junior Metallurgist at Rustenburg Platinum Mines. Niel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering with a specialization in Extractive Metallurgy from Stellenbosch University and a Certificate in International Marketing from the University of South Africa.
