Karl Nordström

Karl Nordström has a diverse work experience in various scientific and technological roles. Starting with their most recent position, they worked as a Geospatial Data Engineer at Muon Space, starting in April 2023. Before that, they were a Senior System Engineer at DDK Positioning from June 2022 to April 2023.

Prior to their industry roles, Karl worked at different research institutions. Karl was a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer and later a Senior Machine Learning/Data Scientist at Spire from May 2019 to June 2022. Karl also served as a Postdoc at Sorbonne Université from January 2018 to 2019, and at Nikhef from October 2017 to 2019.

Before entering the academic and research field, Karl completed their PhD in Particle Physics at The University of Glasgow, where they also worked as a PhD Student from October 2014 to September 2017. Karl also gained further research experience as an MCnet Visiting Researcher at University of Heidelberg in 2016. Additionally, they participated in research programs as a Summer Student at CERN in 2014, DESY in 2013, and The University of Glasgow in 2012.

Throughout their career, Karl Nordström has developed expertise in geospatial data engineering, system engineering, cloud infrastructure, machine learning, and particle physics research.

Karl Nordström completed their education at the University of Glasgow from 2010 to 2014, where they earned a BSc in Theoretical Physics. Prior to that, they attended Mattlidens Gymnasium from 2006 to 2009, where they obtained an IB Diploma. No specific field of study was mentioned for their diploma at Mattlidens Gymnasium.
